|The night view from The Jungle Hut.|
The Majahuitas Resort lies in a remote part of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Remote as in when the road ends, it is an additional 10 minute boat ride to get to the cove. We stayed in a beautiful jungle hut overlooking the beach. Alex and I arrived at night after a 12 hour flight connection. We road the boat into the sunset and got whisked off a candle lit path up to a private beachside table. Our first meal was a green bean salad, the juiciest steak, and homemade creme brûlée. The trip was worth it just for the dining which was included in the room. Our only additional tab was the bar which after a long weekend of margaritas, pina coladas, and a bottle of wine, was only equivalent of one night out in the city.

We took a hike down to a lovely waterfall spot and checked out a small town but our stay mainly consisted of reading, lounging, napping, swimming, eating, and sleeping. By Saturday, the other guests had left leaving us the resort for ourselves. I got Alex to try snorkeling with me which really threw him off. I forgot how hard it is to accept the fact that you can breath normally when you are face first in water.
Our stay at Majahuitas was short and sweet. Alex and I will definitely return someday. But life has swept us away again for now. During our vacation, we decided we had enough money for our own place. We came home, talked it out with our roommates, found a picture perfect studio and had our application submitted within four days. By tomorrow, we will find out if we are accepted!
